She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Dr. Balas is the author of more than 300 research papers in refereed journals and International Conferences. Her research interests include Intelligent Systems, Fuzzy Control, Soft Computing, Smart Sensors, Information Fusion, and Modeling and Simulation. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Advanced Intelligent Paradigms (IJAIP) and the International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering (IJCSysE). She is a member of the Editorial Board of several national and international journals and an expert evaluator for national and international projects and PhD Theses. Dr. Balas is the director of the Intelligent Systems Research Centre in Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad and Director of the Department of International Relations, Programs and Projects in the same university. She served as General Chair of the International Workshop on Soft Computing and Applications (SOFA) in eight editions, 2005-2018, held in Romania and Hungary. In 2017 he has been visiting professor at the Tomsk Polytechnic University in Russia. He has the distinction of National Researcher Rank 2 by the Mexican Council of Science and Technology. In 2022 he was recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate WOS. He has been the advisor of 1 Ph. D. Thesis in Spain and 4 master’s degree thesis in Mexico, currently he is the advisor of 3 Ph. D. Thesis in Mexico. Since 2017 he is member of the IEEE and since 2022 he is a Senior Member. Diego Oliva is coauthor of more than 50 papers in international Q1 journals, 5 books in international editorials and he has 2 patents submitted in Mexico. He was the principal investigator of two full funded Mexican projects and participate in two international projects. He is part of the editorial board of IEEE Access, Plos One, Mathematical Problems in Engineering and IEEE Latin America Transactions. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Al-Azhar University, Egypt, in 2001; the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Assiut University, Egypt, in 2007; and the Ph.D. degree in communication engineering from Novosibirsk State Technical University, Novosibirsk, Russia, in 2012.
From 2001 to 2008, he was a Demonstrator and an Assistant Lecturer with Al-Azhar University. From 2009 to 2012, he was a Ph.D. student with Novosibirsk State Technical University. He served as an Assistant Professor with Al-Azhar University from 2012 to 2018, and was a Guest Researcher with Novosibirsk State Technical University from April to December 2014. From 2019 to 2023, he was an Associate Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Al-Azhar University, where he has been a Professor since 2023.
Dr. Ali is the author of five textbooks and more than 60 articles.
